Grimm: Adalind has a Royal plan for Nick's baby
Adalind (Claire Coffee) is pregnant with Nick's (David Giuntoli) child on "Grimm," and she is really, really not happy about it. In fact, she's not even going to tell the father -- she's just going to pretend it's somebody else's baby.
In Friday's (March 27) episode, Adalind decides to pretend the Grimm's child is actually the baby of a Royal. She sets her sights on Viktor (Alexis Denisof), but when he unceremoniously is sent away from Portland, she's going to have to switch her "sleep with somebody fast" plan to a new Royal.
Fortunately for her, another Royal is coming to Portland. Nico Evers-Swindell will play Prince Kenneth in at least two upcoming episodes.
"This new prince is definitely take-no-prisoners. I think she feels a little bit caught off guard," Coffee tells Zap2it during a recent group set visit. She adds, "We're going to find out a lot more about the structure of the royal family, kind of similar to last year where it really ramps up. They really are the big evil side of the show."
Adalind wormed her way into the hearts of many previous Royals who came to Portland, and she'll probably use her same strategies on Kenneth. "[It] remains to be seen if that's going to work on this one, but I have a feeling that her reputation has proceeded her," Coffee says. "I have a feeling he has a little more discretion."
Regardless of whether Adalind pulls off her con or not, she's still pregnant with a second child, and she's still missing her first. "I think Adalind really doesn't understand why they took her away," Coffee says of her other baby. "She blames [Nick's group], she blames the Royals. They're all on her hit list, it's just the prioritizing of the wrath. But I think Nick's mom is pretty high up there because she feels betrayed because she had this comrade for a minute."
Even though she only had a week with her daughter, Adalind says she would be a "hands on" mother. "Probably very possessive of the child," she admits. "It would end up being a 'Mommy Dearest' situation because the child is now her only friend." Coffee notes, "I think the baby did at least make her human in a way, and for me that was really fun too because the stakes were a lot higher, having something to lose for once."
